Description
When making the move to Microsoft Windows Server Hyper-V a migration plan needs to be put in place so that the machines in a physical machine environment can be successfully migrated to a virtual environment. It is important for the organizations performing these migrations of machines onto production Hyper-V resource pools to be familiar with the different migration types. In addition to correctly planning a Hyper-V server environment, each and every individual virtual machine need to be planned so it is equally important to understand the components of a virtual machine such as virtual hard drives, configuration files, snapshots, and states.
This course describes the common scenarios which exist prior to a move to Hyper-V and explores the tools and process available to the user on how to move to perform a migration. The components, functions, and the processes of creating a virtual machine is also covered.
