Description

As a Linux System Administrator you’ll sometimes require a specific piece of software, or specific version of software that is not available as a binary from your Linux distribution’s repository. In this situation, compiling your own binary directly from the source code may be the only way to obtain this application. This course covers the prerequisites required to compile software on your system, as well as how to extract and build software from source. A number of alternative bootloaders aside from the now standard GRUB bootloader are also discussed. This course is for people taking Advanced Level Linux Professional (LPIC-2) Exam 202.
