Increasing Productivity by Influencing Mood

Description

Happiness is not always the goal. People in a neutral or slightly negative mood are more accurate and detail focused. Moods can be influenced by body language, tone of voice, and room setting. Encourage a neutral mood by seating the team in a dark room with heads down, and speak in a monotone. Encourage a happy mood for creativity and acceptance of change with techniques that encourage the opposite emotional context—head up, positive tone, and so on. People are happier receiving negative feedback in a positive way, than positive feedback in a negative way.
